Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, a distinguished chair professor at IIT Kanpur, has been awarded the Padma Shri for his contributions to science and technology.
An IIT Kanpur alumnus, Sharma has played a key role in establishing Nano Technology and Imaging Centres at the institute and has also served as a secretary in the central government.
He has over 20 prestigious awards, including the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award and Infosys Prize.
