Dr. V. Narayanan, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), effective January 14, 2025.
Dr. Narayanan holds an M.Tech in Cryogenic Engineering and a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He began his career at ISRO in 1984, contributing to projects like the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and leading the Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC).
His tenure is expected to advance India’s ambitious space objectives, including establishing a space station by 2035 and a manned lunar mission by 2040.
